Bajaj Auto, a powerhouse in motorcycle production, has been instrumental in managing the manufacturing for several international motorcycle brands, including KTM, Husqvarna, and Triumph. Recently, Husqvarna made waves with the launch of the 2024 Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 250. Now, enthusiasts await the arrival of the Svartpilen 250, adding to the Swedish manufacturer’s impressive lineup.
New Arrival
Earlier this year, Husqvarna introduced the 401 version of its Svartpilen and the 250 version of its Vitpilen. Interestingly, the 401 Svartpilen was launched without a corresponding 401 Vitpilen, a strategic move to align displacement categories with character and design DNA.
While there won’t be a Vitpilen 401 launch, keeping the Roadster-styled Vitpilen limited to the smaller 250cc segment, the Svartpilen seems poised for a dual release in both 401 and 250 segments. The recent homologation of the Svartpilen 250 indicates its imminent arrival, following the successful launch of the Svartpilen 401.
Homologation
According to leaked homologation documents approved by the Transport Department of India, the Svartpilen 250 shares many dimensions with its Vitpilen counterpart. With a 249.07cc engine producing 30.57 bhp peak power and 25 Nm peak torque, the Svartpilen 250 boasts a slightly taller stature and a gross weight of 315 kg.
Changes and Features
Anticipate a slight retune in the Svartpilen 250’s engine, with peak power delivered at 9,250 RPM to suit its unique character and styling. The single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC 4V engine is expected to remain consistent with the Vitpilen 250, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip and assist clutch.
In terms of componentry, the Svartpilen 250 is likely to feature non-adjustable USD telescopic front forks and a single-sided rear mono-shock, akin to the Vitpilen 250. Wire-spoke wheels with tube-type dual-sport tires, possibly Pirelli Scorpions, are anticipated.
Design and Aesthetics
Compared to its predecessor, the new Svartpilen 250 will sport a larger fuel tank, redesigned tail-section, expanded headlight cowl, and a more spacious seat. Expect a sleek matte black shade accented with neon highlights, adding a touch of modernity to its classic design.
As the anticipation builds for the 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, enthusiasts eagerly await its arrival, poised to experience the thrill of Swedish engineering on the open road.
