Yamaha sold 67,784 units in India in October 2023, a sales boost driven largely by its popular FZ series.
The FZ series topped sales in October at 18,000 units, followed by RayZR at 13,870 units and R15 at 12,964 units.
The 149cc air-cooled engine in the FZ generates 12.2bhp power and 13.3Nm torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Key features include telescopic forks, mono-shock rear suspension, wide handlebar, 282mm front and 220mm rear disc brakes.
Good performance, attractive design, competitive pricing and strong brand image drive FZ sales in India.
The FZ appeals to young enthusiasts in urban areas looking for a powerful yet affordable motorcycle.
The FZ competes with bikes like Bajaj Pulsar, TVS Apache and Hero Xtreme in the 150-160cc segment.
